I'm 37 and I still love putting potato chips on my sandwich. That extra crunch is amazing. Recently, I've started using tostadas for the same purpose. My go to sandwich is something I call a BOAT. Bacon, Onion, Avacado, and Tomato. Of course, there's always going to be some king of chip involved.

Speaking as a proud Southern girl, I have two things to say. 1 - Yes it must always be Duke's mayo. Thank you for pointing that out, I'm very impressed you knew that. 2 - It's the simplicity of the "boring" tomato sandwich that makes it so good. Two pieces of fresh white fluff bread, Duke's mayo, thinly sliced, fresh picked, homegrown tomato (piled as high as you like), salt and pepper are all you need. Add in some plain Lay's potato chips and a cold 8oz glass bottle of Coca-Cola and that's pure Heaven to a lot of Southerners.

Good bread toasted, really good tomatoes with flaky salt and fresh cracked pepper, and kewpie mayo. Honestly one of my favorite sandwiches to eat

Dude Wtf this looks so good! I'm a chef by trade in South Louisiana so we have REALLY FANTASTIC heirloom tomatoes this time of year and I have access to plenty of perfectly fresh basil and ricotta and good olive oil. Honestly all I have to do is make some bread and the sandwich is done

This kinda reminds me of a cucumber sandwich I made the other day. I mixed everything bagel seasoning and creamy feta with cream cheese, spread that on untoasted sliced Italian bread. Made a good layer of sliced cucumber, black pepper, and some crushed garden salsa sunchips. It was divine!

You are a genius. I lived on tomato, onion, and provolone cheese sandwiches in college 40 years ago to avoid cafeteria food. Lol. Never made one like this. I’m vegan now. I will have to find a good vegan ricotta. And I love salt and vinegar chips. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks. ❤

Just a reminder: one way to upgrade your sandwich is to use the broiler instead of the proper "toast" setting. This way you can hard toast the inside surface and soft toast the outside surface for a maximum of both toasty flavor and mouth friendly texture.

I do something similar but I use Burrata cheese, butter lettuce dressed in olive oil and vinegar, and I fry some jalapeños

the trick about beating the ricotta to make it smooth and spreadable is GOATED imma try it it every time i buy ricotta it makes it 100 times better ty for that
