Rey’s character development was as exciting as watching my grass grow in my lawn. Actually, at least my grass developed this summer. Unlike Rey

I swear Kathleen Kennedy has beef against Luke and Anakin Skywalker. She literally re-did Luke's orgin story and Anakin bringing balance to the force through Rey. Like wtf?!

They had literally the easiest job of all time and they ruined it. Why they haven’t all been fired yet is beyond me.

Rey is the most worthless character to ever come out of what is supposedly Star Wars. The only reason anyone identifies with her it's because I think they're defending some kind of ideal, when all actuality she is the most worthless character in all of fiction since Bella Swan. I honestly feel bad for Daisy Ridley, because she is a fine actress, given a garbage role. This entire timeline Disney shoved down our throats needs to be concluded, locked off and otherwise forgotten. If you want real Star Wars, bring back the real damned EU. Honestly though, I would only even want that if Disney got rid of the absolute hacks they have writing their stories right now. Sorry for the rant, but I was born in the year that Jedi came out, and I loved the original trilogy, and was fond of the prequels, with revenge being the best of the three for me. I was also massively fond of the EU.

The Disney era deserves to be wiped away. It's simply inferior, and I'm tired of Disney defecating on this IP.

Rey actively makes me not want to watch whatever they put out. She is not "valuable", she is poison in the supply.

They don’t consider Luke Skywalker and Han Solo useful characters because they didn’t create them. Disney, Star Wars doesn’t want to use any legacy characters. They want to re-create Star Wars in Kathleen Kennedy’s image. This is also why they sidelined Anakin, Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, and put a Reva and baby Leah in the forefront.

If they genuinely believe this, then there's no hope for them. You can't fix a problem if you can't even _see_ that it's a problem.

Before I would have said that Lucas film should just adapt Knight's of The Old Republic. But until Kathleen Kennedy takes her leave from Star Wars, I wouldn't want them touching the Old Republic with a 12-foot Pole

that's why i refuse to pay Disney for anything, especially Star Wars. They took the greatest franchise in existence and obliterated the entire thing, only to turn and blame the fans. F you, Disney. I refuse to support anything you do, and i also refuse to introduce any young family members to anything you've done.

you all remember animated sabine wren, sure she wasn't able to use the force, but after she did some lightsaber training she was ready but in the process she failed and she wanted to quit but eventually rised above that "problem" and completed the training, "rey" had to do nothing, experience nothing, and almost learned nothing.

Make another Star Wars movie, have the person wake up and go ‘oh it was all a bad dream’ and then start again. you’re welcome.

I introduced my 20 yo sister to _Star Wars_ for the first time a couple of weeks back. We watched Episodes' I through VI. She enjoyed the prequels more than the OT (a much more common sentiment shared by quite a few of the younger generations watching _Star Wars_ for the first time, so fair enough). I presented the option to watch the sequel trilogy, but she was worried it would taint her experience with the franchise so far because she had heard negative things about it, so she asked me if there were any other movies/shows that followed Obi-Wan (her favourite character) and Anakin, and I mentioned _The Clone Wars_ and the _Obi-Wan Kenobi_ series.

We watched _Obi-Wan Kenobi_ first, since it's a shorter watch, and the first thing she told me while watching it was how much she hated Reva as a character lmao. She also pointed out how ridiculous Reva's motives are and how little sense they make. Even someone who is a complete noob to the _Star Wars_ franchise can see the glaring storytelling flaws in the series. 😂😂

Now we're watching _The Clone Wars_ in chronological order (my personal favourite way to watch the series), and she appears to be enjoying it leaps and bounds more than _Obi-Wan Kenobi_ lol.

Kathleen Kennedy will be 97, hooked up to an IV and dialysis machine, and still be bumbling her way through as head of Lucasfilm. She must have dirt on lots of people to still be there.

To me, the coffin was made with Disney Sequels, and the last nail was Kenobi. That was the most incompetent screw up I have ever seen.
And they still have Kenobi and Vader, but I don't want Disney to touch them ever again.
Oh, and I think they have an agenda to suplant the originals with their "own stamp", and use politics as a shield against criticism.

How Do These People End Up in Companies?

Many large, modern companies are led by executives with a narrow ideological vision, often occupying the highest ranks in the hierarchy. A prominent example of this would be Kathleen Kennedy. These individuals tend to apply their personal beliefs and ideologies—ones that increasingly resemble a religion—to the company's hiring and management practices. They don’t hire based on skills, experience, or merit; instead, they prioritize their own "moral" convictions and the broader woke agenda.

These leaders aren’t the ones doing the actual work; they are the managers overseeing those who do. They set the guidelines for how things should be done, and because of this, they hold significant responsibility for the outcomes within the company. A clear example of this can be seen with Ubisoft and the game Star Wars Outlaws. It’s been reported that employees were subjected to strict guidelines that came from the top down—guidelines that often prioritized ideology over the quality of the work. These mandates were not only unrealistic, but they also damaged the original source material, stripped the projects of passion, and focused more on fulfilling a political agenda. As a result, we saw characters in these games become overly "woke, " excessively feminine, or predominantly from specific minority groups—something we’ve also seen in games like Dragon Age.

The consequences of this ideologically-driven hiring approach are evident: instead of delivering authentic, thoughtfully created content, the ideological standard often trumps the quality and depth of the final product.

This is where the corruption begins, and for Star Wars, it all started the moment George Lucas sold the franchise to Disney.

But How Does Corrupt or Incompetent Leadership Lead to Complete Failure?

This is where things take a dark turn. As these woke managers gain more influence, they begin to hire based on race and gender rather than merit. They predominantly hire women and minorities, believing that these groups are "oppressed" and therefore must be prioritized. In their minds, "oppressed" equals "good" (yes, it really is that simplistic and misguided). This process is inherently racist, especially toward other groups, notably white men. Over time, this results in roles being filled with individuals who are more motivated by ideology than a true love for the source material. The most qualified candidates—the ones who would have actually cared about the projects and the integrity of the work—are overlooked in favor of those who fit a specific ideological mold.

As this trend continues, we see the bottom and mid-levels of these companies become flooded with woke ideologues—people whose primary focus is advancing political agendas rather than creating high-quality work.

The Impact on the Workforce and the Final Product

Even worse than the ideologues at the top are the workers on the ground—those who are actually doing the work. As the situation worsens, the few remaining competent individuals—often the ones doing the lion’s share of the work—become disillusioned, overworked, and eventually leave. This can be clearly seen in what happened behind the scenes at Ubisoft. Once the backbone of the company starts to crumble, the whole structure follows suit.

It’s important to clarify that while many hardworking and skilled people still exist in these companies, they are in the minority. Their voices often go unheard. It's also essential to note that it's not inherently wrong for women, people of color, or other minorities to be in these positions—there are undoubtedly many talented and competent individuals from these groups contributing excellent work. The problem arises when people are hired solely because of their gender, race, or ideological alignment, and not their competence. To simplify the issue, imagine two groups:

Hired for the best of the best, based on skills and experience.
Hired based on skin color, gender, or ideological alignment.
It doesn’t take a business degree to recognize that these two groups are likely to produce vastly different results in terms of quality.

What’s Going to Happen?

If we look at what happened to Ubisoft, it’s clear that the company faced a steep decline due to the same issues now plaguing companies like Disney. The real question isn’t if these companies will collapse, but when. How long will people continue to pay for woke products, and how much money can they burn through before the bottom falls out? Ubisoft took several years and a string of poor games to fall apart, but Disney might survive longer due to its broader portfolio of successful products.

Ultimately, these ideologies are harming society as a whole. They are pervasive throughout companies and institutions, and their damaging effects become more apparent when the final product is in the public eye, like with media. While the problem may not be as visible in other sectors, it’s still there, eating away at the foundation of many industries.

I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I hope this perspective helps shed light on one of many issues that is contributing to the decline of franchises like Star Wars, as well as the deterioration of big bureaucratic companies and society in general. The way forward may not be clear, but understanding the problem is the first step toward finding a solution.

I keep wondering about what happened to all the potential story material following the fall of the Empire. Wouldn't all those thousands of systems be arguing and fighting for power or to be paid what they're "owed" after what they've supposedly lost and having to have endured all those years of Imperial rule? Wouldn't there be A LOT of tyrant "wanna-bees" coming out of the woodwork to claim what's "rightfully theirs"? Wouldn't there be a pretty sizeable reluctance to form another Republic after what happened with the last one? Wouldn't smaller systems be banning together for protection and economic reasons to guard against the larger ones wanting to come in and claim them as their own? I'd think that AFTER the fall of the Empire is when the BIG war would actually begin with everyone scrambling to rebuild their own militaries and enforce their will on their neighbors!
What happened? Where's all the needed "restructuring"? The Empire falls and everyone just holds hands and sings "Kumbaya"...?!
Is there nothing but a barren waste of imagination over at Lucasfilm now...? Just SAD.
