At the 2018 International Mathematical Congress we talk to the MIT Professor about his work in algorithmic game theory, where he looks at the interactions between game theory and economics. Prof Daskalakis explains his discoveries around nash equilibrium – the fact that it could take lifetime of the universe before complicated system reaches equilibrium – as well mechanism design, or ‘reverse game theory’ – designing a system already in play to achieve a certain result.
