I thought that tool you use for sharpening is called a hone? It straightens the blade? You need a whetstone for sharpening the actual blade I thought.

Boom! Number 5 was a new one for me. Sharpening a knife, and keeping a knife sharp are two different things though...

Love your videos man! But, There is actually no need to cut the onion horizontal, just let your vertical cuts follow the onions natural curve.. (And the reason you cry when cutting onion, is that the "gas" from the onions rises upwords and forms sulfuric acid when in contact with the water in your eyes. A good tip is to have a tall glass of water besides you)

That J cloth on the herbs tip I am about to apply right now. Got a fridge full of herbs from the garden getting a little stale at this point.

What the fuck did you get involved with Jamie Oliver for, he REALLY can't cook, I once saw him throw butter and flour in a stew and said this is called a Roux, NICE

Maintaining a blade, and sharpening, are two different things. The angle is 15, not 45 btw :) But the rest are solid tips, to make your cooking go boom! :D

My bell pepper hack, that I never see anyone use (probably because I invented it myself):
Make a long vertical cut on each side of the bell pepper with your knife
Place your hand on each side of the bell pepper, with the cut sides facing towards and away from you
Twist your hands so you break the bell pepper in two halves
Break out the stem, and bang out the little seeds
Now you're ready to cut the bell pepper, or use each side as a bowl to fill
Boom.

Nice vid, bro!
I'ma bit sceptic of the last hack though, leaving moist cloth inside your fridge might not be optimal for the fridge ;)

Just as a side note though, sorry to contradict ya JQ, but chopping onions is much less unruly I find, if you do the horizontal cuts first, then the vertical ones.

Actually safer too, because you don't have to hold it all together.

Test it out.

Oh, it's cool! Thanx!
Are you going to continue these hack stuff? I am sure it would be very useful for beginners to know this to cook better or just to spend time in front of plate more efficient.
