If we used a bendable tube instead and made it to a circle would the rod keep moving along? Also what are some real life possible applications(other than launcher)?

Why not switch the poles after passing the centre of the coil? Wouldn’t that theoretically make it go way faster since it will be pushed?

Is it possible to use a few L298N Dual H-bridge drivers instead of the 4-Channel MOSFET driver to complete the same goal? Would I then need individual MOSFET transistors? I'm asking out of curiosity and because I already have the L293D in my inventory and would have to go out and order a new MOSFET driver. Thank you for the video, nonetheless.

I'm trying to buy a projectile and I purchased a non-plated steel rod. Does it need to be ferromagnetic? When I put the steel up to the sensor nothing is being detected? Will this change when the electromagnet is turned on?
