NOAA Deep Ocean Education Project

Показать описание
The Deep Ocean is a source of endless fascination for young students around the world, and the ever-increasing knowledge we have about its flora, fauna, topology and more means there’s a huge amount for educators to inspire and engage students with.
As the explorers and stewards of a wealth of information about the deep ocean, groups like NOAA Ocean Exploration, Ocean Exploration Trust, and the Schmidt Ocean Institute are open to collaboration with educators all around the world to ensure they have the very best resources at their disposal for truly impactful education about the deep ocean.
As such, these three partners came together to share highlights of each organization’s education materials, videos, and other information about the deep ocean in one location through the Deep Ocean Education Project, a website and resource hub that provides access to ocean exploration-based learning for educators, students, and anyone else interested in learning more about our deep ocean.
Educators from across the country and the world can come to one place to develop lesson plans focused on the deep ocean, with access to a huge archive of video, photos and other data, facilities to curate the content they need, as well as up to date information about the ongoing work of the three groups. For example, teachers can link up live to observe research vessels in action.
The Deep Ocean Education Project is inspiring the next generation of oceanographers, and ensuring continued respect and understanding of the deep ocean for all.
