I love their relationship. Always loved Han's little smile when Leia kisses him on the cheek in Empire Strikes Back while they float away with the Empire's garbage, before going to Bespin. It's so cute!

This summer, my girlfriend and I went to Disney World Hollywood Studios. We went to Star Wars Launch Bay. After hung around a while, She sit beside the catina and rest, while I went to buy my lightsaber. When I came back to her, the bgm of the hall turned into "Han Solo and the princess" immediatly. I suddenly felt the guide of the force, so I kneel and pledge my lightsaber to her and propose to her. She, also a Star Wars fan, finished the Jedi Kighting ceremony to answer me. Now, she is my wife. This song means too much for me.

Williams always seems to put in a hint of tragedy in his Star Wars love themes. It's like he knows what's gonna come out of the relationship.

I just re watched The Force Awakens and something sad became clear to me.
They were a Princess and a Pirate. They loved each other. But their relationship was so unlikely, so fiery, so bizarre. Yet it happened. It was almost something that shouldn't have happened, but it still did.
TFA suggested that they were always arguing and Han was always disappearing and coming back. Basically they loved each other but they could never truly be happy together.
A beautiful and impossible love story.
Of which Ben Solo/Kylo Ren, was the result.

So similar to Marion's Theme from 'Raiders'. Those films were made around the same time, so maybe there's a hidden connection or maybe it just shows John's inspiration in that period.
