Excellent advice. I will be 82 in June, been playing for 60 years, have a 16-17 handicap. Everything you say here corresponds to what the pro I go to is trying to get me to do and what I am working on. Tucking my right elbow in and keeping the elbows together on the backswing, with the right elbow touching and just slightly in front of the waist as you show, for sure. Having my left wrist bowed and my right wrist in extension as the shaft is about parallel to the ground, then consciously letting my wrists release and allowing the momentum of the club head to continue and bring my hands up to a high finish, for sure. But there are also several extra elements I have seen in all your videos that I think will be extremely helpful to me, namely the sequence as you start the downswing of holding the right hip back for a split second, then focusing on shifting the left hip several inches to the left past "the wall" and bringing the right knee up to and above the ball. It does not seem that you are pushing the right knee forward with force. Instead, the pronounced shift to the left allows the right knee almost fall forward. I think I have been focusing too much on trying to turn the left hip and getting my right foot up on the toe. You mentioned in one video, just for a second, that you want to avoid early straightening of the left leg and "spinning" the hips. This was an AHA moment. There are some very respected instructors I have been watching who stress that the pelvis and hips are the primary engine, and focus on turning the pelvis back with a push up on the trail leg, then "unweighting, " then turning the pelvis toward the target and pulling the left hip back with a definite push up on the lead leg. I may have misinterpreted this and seen it as spinning, pulling the left hip back without any real shift past the wall. Other additional elements in your sequence that I want to work on are getting the left shoulder high and getting the chest pointed up. This just looks so smooth and efficient when you do it.

Craig love how you recommend hinging the wrist and I finally see why you hit the ball so hard at the start of your videos and it's that whip that gives you that power.

Keeping up that angle indeed is needed. Thank you for sharing 🏌️‍♀️

As a mid 60s golfer changing my grip from neutral to a very strong 4 knuckles grip worked extremely well for me, took a quite a bit of getting used to, definitely regained most of my lost distance, only downside? I still occasionally hit the odd big hook.

It’s amazing that more YouTube teachers haven’t pointed this out.

Craig - how I wish I’d come across your channel years ago - the amount of times I’ve been told by pros that wrist release has nothing to do with swing speed - this video just proves that to be a complete myth — thanks for everything

I like the elbow being tucked into the ribs nice sequence

The cupped left wrist is my nemesis, I never fail to be open at impact.

Another great video Craig, thank you.

as a senior that is playing solely with seniors, your flexibility is 10X more than ours. There is a huge difference between a 50 yr old body and a 70 year old body. You'll see when and if you get there. Everything from mobility to declining energy, dictates your swing. Great video, nonetheless.

I like your methods and the way you teach this. My main problem lately is too much right side bend in the downswing. Might be happening because of too much hip slide. I think you tip of getting a little lower in the downswing as you teach might help that problem help that problem. It seems that in what you teach there isn't a lot of right side bend in the downswing, certainly less than mine.

As a 77 year old with a history of lower back surgery, I wish I could come close to your demonstrated lower body rotation in the video. The demonstrated release still requires quite a bit of hip turn. Is there a way to get such a release and decent ball contact when the golfer has a more restrictive lower body movement?

I’m 64 with arthritis. That swing would put me in the hospital. Glad you’re so flexible - wish I still was.

What was the exercise thing you were using at the beginning of the video

Can you give me a feeling for the most toon of the left wrist. I have seen this extension mentioned frequently, but it is different than rolling the forearms through impact.

When I lift my left heel I seem to just top the ball🙁🙁

You keep empathizing wrist-Well, most older people have extremely PAINFUL wrists. I have arthritis in both wrists and thumbs. I wear a brace on both, but I’m always in constant pain. I refuse to give the game up, but the wrist issues take a lot of the fun out of it. Wish there was a solution.
