If i am Trump there is no way I show up to that courtroom. I'd be willing to Zoom in for sentencing but I'd be somewhere overseas hidden until inauguration day with a Justice to swear me in. The fact that Judge Merchan DEMANDS the sentencing happen before Inauguration Day speaks volumes to me.

The statute is US Code 18 section 242: Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law.
Now, Trump can show up virtually, which he should do. If he doesn't then the judge can issue a bench warrant and the case goes on. Getting this out of the way allows him to file with the appeals court. Which should be done about a half second after the judge bangs his gavel.
He should also instruct his lawyers to notify merchan and bragg to not make themselves scarce and to free up their calendars for the next 7 to 10 years.

Paying Stormy for nondisclosure is not any kind of crime. What is being argued is that he should not have put the payment into the category "legal services" in his company records. THIS is what would have been a misdemeanor were the facts not laughably silly and obviously not overcharged. The law is intended to protect business owners from employees embezzling so charging the sole owner for lying to himself is insane. What makes it a clear conspiracy to violate rights and election interference is that NOBODY believes this charge would have been brought if Trump was not running for election. There is no victim. There was no complainant. The entire case relies on the DA claiming he knows better how to classify expenses in an internal accounting system than the company's owner does.
