Here’s the thing about band kids. There are like 3 different types.

1. ‘Normal’ people. They’re like everyone else and you get along with them great. They’re funny, talented, and what makes band so fun.

2. The odd ones. These people are usually a little socially awkward, but are always nice regardless. They are also talented, but sometimes just a bit harder to talk to if you guys don’t hang out in other classes or if you don’t have any common ground.

3. And here we have, of course, the weird ones. These kids can pick at every little thing you do without actually doing it right themselves. They have an odd or nonexistent sense of humor and haven’t heard of social cues. Some play when the director is talking and oh boy do we all roll our eyes. A typical discord mod is not an inaccurate assumption of these kids.

Overall, most band kids are normal or shy. The weird kids exist but at least in my band there’s only like one of them. By far the worst lol.

As a band kid, I can confirm that while most of us are like that, every now and then you will run into the coolest sax or brass player you will ever meet (please for the love of god please stop blowing up my notifications)
