Here in MN, most docks are shallow and we add another factor in, the amount of vegetation around the dock. Sometimes the bass seem to like “clean” docks and other days they like the weedy docks.

Good info: I just moved to the area I fish and finding the right 'stuff' lures and spots to fish is a lot of effort. There are 10's of docks! Thanks for the TEACH!

Amazing how shallow they get under that first float. Even in the heat. I am on the same dock almost every day and it is always different as to what is going on with bait and different species of fish. Sometimes a ghost town.

Great info for reservoir fishing. But kinda useless for northern fisheries that are predominantly natural lakes where you don't have big creek arms, channel swings, or transition banks, etc. and most docks are about the same depth and water type. The only difference you'll find is construction type (floating vs post) and the density of vegetation around them.
