Fred is a French Freediving Athlete. He was competing at a freediving pool competition and attempting to swim underwater as far as he could while holding his breath. 🧜🏻‍♂️

But when the oxygen levels in his body became dangerously low, he blacked out and went unconscious. This was his brain's way of conserving the last of his oxygen and protecting vital organs. 🫁🤯

The safety team quickly pulled Fred to the surface, removed his goggles and nose clip, and began blowing air on his face while tapping him and telling him to breath. This is standard rescue procedure for a freediving blackout. 🚑

After a few seconds Fred regained consciousness, started breathing on his own, and signalled that he was okay. 👌🏻

Remember, always dive within your limits and NEVER DIVE ALONE!

I was close to a Blackout in a simular situation a while ago. It sounds weird but my vision slowly turned black from the outside to the middle and it felt some kind of peaceful. There was no panic or fear but pure relaxation. Hard to imagine. dive safe! 🙏🏼

In the original video, the woman blowing air to his face actually wanted to perform an artificial respiration to him, but got told not to and gently be pushed away.
