Honor Magic VS Unboxing/Hands-On: Finally, Global Competition For Galaxy Fold!

Samsung has had a monopoly on the global foldable scene for a few years now. This changes in early 2023 as Honor is set to launch its foldable phone internationally, meaning in Europe and Asia! The Magic Vs features a 7.9-inch large internal screen, with a 6.5-inch outside screen. The phone is the lightest foldable around at 262g, and packs a 5,000 mAh battery. In terms of hardware, it is looking impressive. I'll be back with a full review.

Interior screen：Foldable OLED, up to 90Hz
Exterior screen：OLED, up to 120Hz

Thanks Ben. Looking forward to your review. I am excited that this device is coming to Europe as I am based in the UK. It looks like they got things right on paper, my only concerns are 1. Outer screen is 120hz but larger screen is 90hz 2. The software may not be as good as Samsung. I am glad that Samsung is having some competition though. Oppo is due to announce the find n2 soon too. The Magic vs has a normal 6.4 inches Outer screen, so it looks like a normal phone that can now be unfolded into a 7.9 inches tablet. This is what I have been expecting Samsung to do since fold 1!!!!

I really hope X fold2 launch as global model. No other fold phone beats Vivo in Camera and fingerprint sensor. hardware is not that bad either looking at Funtouch13 and Oriign 3.

Still no water resistance. That's the problem with these fold-flat hinges relative to the Fold's gapped hinge. The other big issue will of course be software. Android alone is still pretty terrible for folding devices and Samsung does a lot of brute forcing to make it a good experience. Even then, there are still elements where you need to go beyond standard OneUI and utilize Samsung Good Lock to get some features to really make the most of the experience. So far, I've yet to see a Chinese folding phone come close to Samsung's software.

I really want to buy it, but I have decided to wait 5 years for every upgrade.
Since 2018, I will wait until the end of 2023 to actually buy a phone and if these phones become quite good, I will go with the foldable 1TB.

I so wish it would come here! I'm typing on a honor phone right now, it still works here in the US only caz. It's an older model so it's still kicking, even with Google apps.
Really want another, but the crazy politics have crushed our ability to have better phone and tech choices! So not cool, and so frustrating!

By far the most affordable new foldable that will be on the market. Kind of wish they'd left the camera on the inside display off, but other than that it looks great.
