If you ever run out of explosives and a door is very low on health, you can finish it off with bone clubs. Even better is the salvaged hammer (I think a full one does about 11 damage to a sheet metal door before breaking) and at a desperate push, you can use rocks.

It's sometimes quicker to do this than to travel back to base for more boom.

Splash damage is a good point but I would say the durability of weapons is a main factor as then you’re adding the cost of a gun in too lol

there's mixing tables now, you can build multiple tables, and you can make gun powder cheaper in them. Also, having the ability to use multiple tables, you can queue a LOT of gp faster
