It definitely has to do with color, the status quo is white executives capitalizing off black talent. LeBron and Rich are offering black executive representation and old rich white men don't like that. i.e. the ex-clipper owner caught on tape saying as much. Magic is also affected by this. The NBA does not like the current trend which is leading towards players having more of a say on where they play and having their own power network. I fully respect Lebron for opening the doors which led to Rich Paul and Maverick Carter becoming successful businessmen. The days of players being manipulated and then retiring broke should be gone forever. Lebron has created a great template.
