"Publicity, that's what got me." -Al Capone.

Today's crime bosses probably learn from this lesson and will never let themselves be known.

“Don’t mistake my kindness for weakness. I am kind to everyone, but when someone is unkind to me, weak is not what your going to remember about me.”
Al Capon

Btw for those wondering, the movie in a lot of the background shots is called "The Untouchables". Definitely worth a watch.

My grandfather on my mom's side came to this country in 1910 he became a janitor and managed apartments then in the 20's when movie theaters got big and Capone 2 nights a week he ran the theater but every Sunday Capone rented the entire theater for his people and paid my grandfather to play the movies and make sure nobody came in that wasn't supposed to, I have 3 photos of my grandfather with Capone and nitti my grandfather use to tell me every Sunday I could count on Capone giving me 6 of the $5 gold pieces back then $5 was a ton of money

Al took Balzac’s observation: “Behind every great fortune, there is a great crime” literally. It’s not healthy to glorify, or romanticize. Dead shortly, after his 48th birthday.

I don't think people fully realize and appreciate the unique format that Jake approaches his documentaries. Presenting each video as if the viewer *IS* in the character or topic's shoes is a grand approach.

so cool love that last line "publicity" wow someone probably took that and is currently an underground whatever boss and we won't ever know because he learned from Al Capone's mistakes.

I read a book called "King of The Bootleggers, The Whiskey King" and it was all about a man named Rocco Perri who lived and "worked" in Hamilton, Ontario. His story is a nothing to something and its amazing. Talks about the politics that helped shape his wealth, him working with other gangsters like Lucky Luciano and AL Capone, the ways he found brewers when Canada was also under prohibition laws too in order to still supply both the U.S. and Canada. Talks of the loopholes he exploited, scams, the glitz and glamour. He was business savvy, worked for everything, wasn't handed anything the way Capone was. He had the pinstripe suits before Capone even made a dollar off of booz, he's one of the only crooks I've read about that I truly admired, strongly suggest you guys check it out if you're a fan of true crime !

At this point I don't need to watch the video. Your voice narrating is enough for me ✊

The irony of Jake saying “publicity, that’s what got me” while going over his entire life story was a smart joke

Idk if anyone says this enough to you, but you're a true grinder. You upload multiple times a week and the videos are quality. Don't stop, Jake.
