For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 35 If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. Um thats was written to the Church in Corinthians as they wrote to Paul asking for guidance about issues they were facing in their church about specific problems. If a woman understands the gospel and if the doctrines are sound in the church there wouldnt be this issue to begin with. Maybe you should look at the leader at that time, Apollos and that lesson leaves out the widowed, unmarried etc therefore you are closing the kingdom of God off from those that are seeking it making you no different then the Jews." For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Most tend to leave out the following verse on this subject. The old testament "the law" never stated that women could not speak. Paul was condemning the people that were telling certain women these things in Corinth.

Paul is quoting the Corinthian church and a couple verses later he literally tells his brothers AND SISTERS, to be eager to prophecy.

Many men don’t outpace their wife in knowledge. Some women are very academic.
Some women have very different interests in theology then men. Some men think they are outpacing their wife when I’m reality they are giving canned basic answers.

Women were not taught to read during this time, but husbands knew how. They were to be respectful during the teachings and the lessons and then ask their husbands for any thing that wasn’t understood.
It is so sad that you are a pastor abusing your title and power. Read about Jesus ministry and you will quickly learn how well he loved and cherished the women in his ministry, even revealing his resurrected self to women FIRST, telling them to go tell the men the truth that Jesus was alive.
