Off Grid Cooking Test: Pinto Beans with a Firebox and Wonderbag combo

We're testing out some off-grid cooking methods and this time we tried the Firebox and Wonderbag. Basically you bring the food to a boil, then put it in the Wonderbag to finish, conserving fuel. Sounds amazing, but does it work? We find out!

Love my wonderbag, use it all the time. You can cook rice in it, yogurt, stew, and other stuff. You should try to ensure you can guestimate how long it needs to be in there to get done so double-check with a recipe. You want to make sure of this because once you open the bag you're letting out a lot of the heat and it won't heat up as well when you reseal it.

Didn't know you could use an enamel cast iron on an open fire. Always thought you couldn't do that. I love my enameled cast iron pots. Love my wonderbag, too!

Cloth diaper repurposed products for the win lol. Were still deep into pur cloth diaper journey but have filtered out some bamboo flats to our kitchen as they shrink and shrink after each wash. - i think i need that stove and that bag! Never knew about either of these products. We do have a sun oven i got last year i have yet to try out i need to make that a priority!

silicone might me a good idea for the bottom of the pot when putting it in the wonderbag? Unless you don't like to use silicone. It is reusable, easy to clean and wont melt.
Also, If you get a biolite rocket stove, it would help to lessen the amount of smoke created from the fire and is very efficient. The heat from the fire will charge the battery for you. So, you could use it for a light or something else useful.
