There is an even easier way:

(b+a) * b = A of the entire thing. Devide it by 2 and u got half;

Now just: b * (b-a) = A of the small Rectangle. Now simply substract half of this solution of the big one, done.

[(b+a) * b] / 2 - [(b-a) * b] / 2 = solution

{or}: (Afull/2 - Asmall/2) = solution
