I get that you’re trying to show people a relatively easy trick but I think they should instead actually understand why we are multiplying by 3, I think you should clarify that. I understand that the SAT is timed and these tricks can help but fundamentally understanding would help further because then students may even be able to attempt harder questions due to these fundamentals being applicable everywhere and helps them to think in ways they may not have before.

too simple if the percent increase by 15% the equation would be 1.15 convert percent into a decimal form and then plus one
so 200% is just 2 plus 1 is 3
