Artist Bio: Following on from 2017’s debut album ‘Things I Wish I’d Said’ and 2019’s double a-side single ‘Outlines // Reflections’, Daniel O’Dell (a/k/a Heartwork) set out a plan to record a series of EPs in 2020 that all work together as part of a collective whole. Starting with ‘Six’.
‘Six’ shows O’Dell taking things back to basics and working by himself in his home studio to bring the countless voice memos and notes on his phone to musical life.
This first collection of songs deals with O’Dell’s thoughts around his own mortality, people’s behaviours online and reaching out to loved ones in time of need.
Performed, produced, mixed and mastered by himself over the course of seven weeks, ‘Six’ sets out to pick up where O’Dell left off on previous releases but also aims to bridge the gap to where he wants to take his music.
The title ‘Six’ comes from the fact that this is his sixth year playing music under the The ‘Heartwork’ moniker is a nod to his first Heartwork E.P, 2014’s ‘Five’.
