I have the Baratza Encore and I love it. Parts are easily replaceable so it is made to last.

I have the OXO and set it to 1 1/2 for espresso. That works perfectly.

I have the OXO. Just been using it for a week now. Love it! The catching container is a little tricky but no complaints. Got it brand new still in the box unused at a savers store for 16$.

I just got an OXO for Christmas (2024) and ground my first batch of beans and I'm very impressed. My wife got it because to me K Cups are weak. I found your review and it solidified the purchase in my eyes. Great video!

I have Encore ESP and I LOVE it. I also got the OXO on closeout at BBB. I use it for cold brews.

Nice! Looking forward to seeing how the Baratza does!

If you want espresso you need to go with the Encore ESP.
The ESP comes stock with Baratza's exceptional M2 conical steel burrs.
Using the M2 burrs gives you a more consistent grind than the M3, and it outputs more coffee in less time.
For consistency, ditch the timer and use a scale to weigh your coffee.
Long term, Baratza's customer support and parts availability is superior.

I have the OXO and it is easy to use, in my opinion it is the best for grinding, and coming apart for clean up. We finally can taste coffee as it should be

I’ve had my Encore for about 8 years now. Older version than you’re showing. It just died. Sad😢 thanks for this review. I may spring on the Oxo

❤just purchased the OXO, sounds like I made the right choice, haven't used it yet, I have an old style drip coffee maker, will I get the same results as a automatic coffee maker?

I have the Oxo, and had a Baratza in the past. The issue I've had with the Oxo is that I put in 1.5 ounces of beans, and it always retains some of it. I feel that is due to the wire handle inside trapping beans. I have to shake it while grinding to get the full 1.5 ounces out of it, and this annoys me somewhat. I purchased the Bodum Bistro with glass container and I love it despite the poor reviews on Amazon. The poor reviews largely stem from the fact that you're told not to run it more than 20 seconds without a 5 minute cool down. Well, I'm not brewing a pot, I'm brewing 25.5 ounces of coffee, and so the 20 second rule doesn't affect me. What I like about it is its medium grind is beautiful, and I don't know how to explain this, but I almost always get more weight in ground coffee out of it than the weight of the beans I put into it, so there's no bean retention at all.

Do you think warming up the cord with a hair dryer would make it easier to coil neatly?

I've been looking for a grinder for a while now and i keep reading that neither of these machines can grind espresso properly and INSIST you gotta spend $200 to get a grinder that can do espresso. I dunno what to think about that other than i think espresso people tend to be like audiophiles when it comes to over spending on stuff.

Neither of these have a setting for how many cups of coffee you need. My Cuisinart has that feature, which I find very handy. I set it to medium (for drip0 and select 10 cups and voila!

I have the Oxo, doesn’t do well with espresso at all. Unable to dial in my beans. Everything else is good.

Both grinder seem great. Agreed the Baratza seems popular with coffee drinkers that like a finer grind.

Did you end up brewing any if the coffee that was used for the video? How's the flavor? I've tried another coffee from that brand and liked it. So I'm curious about that breakfast blend 😊

Could you please Tell me If it's possible to make good espressos with this grinder Oxo, without the high-pressure filter?

El oxo es para personas comunes el baratza es para cafeteros iniciales
