This was great. Watching this and other videos of the Ohio State Band has me planning to attend an Ohio State football game just so I can see the band live. Hopefully, we will have a football season this fall. Until then, may you all stay safe and healthy.

My tears listening to this I dedicate to my late father, Darwin Ralph Thorpe (1934-2018); Graduate Class of 1961. I will forever remember his passion and love for Ohio State football, and his life’s application as a college science professor with what he learned as a student at THE (I’m a good son) Ohio State!

I grew up in Columbus loving the Buckeyes and the band music, I always thought, I’d like to play that music, how hard can it be? I found out that it was hard and took a commitment, but I’m glad that I did.
Well at age 76, I took my first trumpet lesson, that was going on nine years ago. Today, I played the Buckeye fight song, Carmen Ohio and Hang On Sloopy! I also play in a 20 Jazz Band. So don’t ever think that you can’t do something. Just do it.

This brings a happy tear to my eye and puts a smile on my face. The Ohio State University and T.B.D.B.I.T.L. means so much to me. Even though I live in the middle of SEC country (MS), I have always had an affinity for the B1G and The Ohio State. One of the first things I did to ease my nerves during quarantine was rewatch some classic games. 2017 matchup against Penn State, the OT game vs TTUN, and all topped off with some Braxton Miller highlights. Thank you Buckeye Nation for meaning so much to a young kind like me and many others.
