You know what's funny: I'm 43, and every election I've ever voted in has been hyped as the most important election in the history of our country except one: the 2000 election. At the time, the general feeling was that Bush and Gore were basically the same, and it didn't matter who won. And yet that was clearly the most consequential election of my lifetime: if Gore had won, we might have avoided two decades of pointless wars that killed hundreds of thousands of people, destroyed the US's reputation abroad, and actually helped terrorists far more than it hurt them by serving as a recruiting tool. I am not a Trump supporter by any stretch of the imagination, but if you think his presidency was worse for America than Bush's, you're delusional.
