Did I bite of more than I could chew? Definetely. I hope you enjoyed this cover of what in my opinion is the game of the year (based on all the gameplay that I've seen so far). This game looks more beautiful than real life, how is that even possible?

Anyways this has been my attempt at the Ghost of Tsushima's soundtrack. It's a OST that's heavily influenced by traditional Japanese music
which I had 0 exp in. Now I'm probably like level 2 or something. This was tough to make, not gonna lie but I think I'm happy with the result at least for now. I feel like the track gets better as it progresses so I hope you watch till the end.

I basically used some of my favorite tracks from the OST with the intention to create a medley that is interesting the whole way through. As most big videogame music Ghost of Tsushima's soundtrack has a lot of atmospheric bits that act more like a filler in order to set the tone of the scenery, so what I tried to do was to make a summary of my favorite non filler parts all put together. A listener friendly version if you will. (but not nearly as good as the original masterpiece by Shigeru Umebayashi of course). The tracks I selected where: Jin Sakai , Lord Shimura , the main theme and a few others I think. I got a shakukachi flute player to perform some of the flute bits as well to give it a bit more realism.

I also included some original parts in the style of the videogame from 3:34 to 4:40. Played with water textures a bit to give it 3D feel.
Let me know if you think it fits or not!

Finally as someone who considers the Witcher 3 to be the best game I have ever played I believe that Ghost of Tsushima is the game that has gotten the closest to that level in terms of inmersion. Everything about it looks phenomenal and I really hope I find the time to play it sometime soon. Even the photo mode is insane! The pictures in this video? All of them taken by regular people using this feature. It's wallpaper freaking quality!

Anyways, as always thanks a lot for watching. I'm planning on making a few more ToG OST inspired tracks in the near future
and I'll probably use one of those to make a tutorial. Outside of that let me know what else you'd like to see next. It's always nice
to have more ideas. Have an awesome day!

1:52 so tragic

Like a samurai who lost his family due to a rival clan and seeks revenge and ends up being a warrior carving his own place within a warrior cast that has ruled Japan for centuries

Either that or the samurai became the very beast he feared

Man this is beautiful. You deserve a job doing this professionally.
On a side note, I would consider it a personal favour if you could do something similar with the soundtracks for KOTOR I & KOTOR II

Oh my god I'm all shivered up. This is truly incredible. Can you please do a piano cover on the new one piece opening? It would be amazing if you have the time to do it.

It hurts my soul that Shigeru is generally credited in these types of videos when it was Ilan Eshkeri who composed the character themes and such and Shigeru composed the world music. So both of their music is integrated in this medley, not merely Shigeru. Idk why people forget the man responsible for the theme of the game.

Also, in regards to the music, study the traditional japanese pentatonic scales. Thats what Eshkeri did and used. It will help you understand the music better.
