To Zanarkand may be one of the most beautiful piano ballads in all of video game history. This arrangement is one taken from Final Fantasy X Piano Collections, arranged by Masashi Hamauzu.

I have long been a huge fan of the remarkably arranged Final Fantasy Piano Collections series, and this has to be one of my favorites throughout the entire collection.

I’m surprised by this game playing for the first time this year. This theme really does capture Tidus through the game and who he is. A bright soul having to deal wit a lot of pain over his dad and losing his home.

This theme hits so hard when you finally get to Zanarkand and realize that Tidus is back home but not like the one he recognizes at all where instead it’s ruins

I just want to share I remember hearing this song when I was 6 years old back in 2001 and I never forgot it. For years it never left me until one day, on my 21st birthday, I decided to go out and buy a weighted keyboard and this was the first song I learned. Complicated but worth it.
