Sinovac CEO Yin Discusses CoronaVac's Efficacy

May.11 -- Sinovac Biotech Ltd.’s vaccine is wiping out Covid-19 among health workers in Indonesia, an encouraging sign for the dozens of developing countries reliant on the controversial Chinese shot, which performed far worse than western vaccines in clinical trials. Chief Executive Officer Yin Weidong discusses CoronaVac's efficacy rate, exportation of the vaccine, and new findings on how it works against variants. He speaks exclusively with Bloomberg's Emma O'Brien.

I got Sinovac too. Doctors in our country got Sinovac as early as March. They are ok, so I decided to take it myself. I am grateful for the chance to get the vaccine albeit not being the mRNA that I initially wanted. Grateful to Sinovac for this protection. the effect of vaccine in chile is very notorious, because the contention of the virus is per age, just like the vaccination program, and it is very notorious that only after the second dose the tendency changes. The greatest change was in 50-59 ages, it was getting very high, the highest but after second dose it began going down. If it not were for the vaccine this would have been a much bigger nightmare.
