Excellent teaching. Never heard of Dr. Smith until today, but I want to hear more of his teaching after listening to this. It's so important to proclaim the authority of God's Word as the world grows darker. God will judge us all. The only safety on that Great Day will be knowing God as your Father, because you have put your faith in His Son, Jesus the Anointed One. If He is not your Advocate on the Great Day, you will be found guilty. Read the Bible. Follow only those leaders who affirm that the Bible is God's holy Book and that every word of it is from God.

I really enjoyed this video. Although I disagree about the discussion of Chapter 3, which I believe was about the 70 AD coming of Christ and destruction of Jerusalem, not the one in our future.

Love you brother! We contend for the faith is Jude said in the last epistle. Strange man have crept in. They were apostoles better yet they were disciples. That's a difference a disciple is directly taught by the Messiah. Given the Great Commission to go out and preach the good news. Direct teaching 3 years with Jesus directly. They said it's false teachers among them? That means they were trying to deceive the very elect! I love you brother. Until they put their stamp on it they think you're not right but when you follow Jesus Christ in his word you have the witness in yourself because you follow the word of God which is the red letters in the New Testament which is Jesus Christ he will guide you if you seek him in his word

Wow! Michigan. Love you brother. Excellent job on second Peter. Only thing I would say pay close attention to is in the first chapter of Second Epistle of Peter when Peter says he that lack these things is blind! That means he can't see. And has forgotten Peter continues that he was purged from his old sins. That means my friends it takes time to get rid of sins you been doing for a long time and if you don't have patience you will be snapping on people telling people they're not saved because you forgot you had to grow into this. That's what Peter is saying my friend not that's a man has no clue. Remember Jesus is salvation we're not showing no one under the bus we're trying to get you from under the bus. A lot of times those that have been saved are not patient with new converts. That's what Peter was saying and when he goes on to talk about we have not follow cunningly devised Fables? We know fables are made up stories and we know cunningly are cleverly made up stories! Peter was talking about people who say that they have met Jesus and Peter knows that they do not know the Lord Jesus because Peter was a true disciple. You can say you had a vision and you have a revelation but Peter knew Jesus personally Jesus gave him that name. You can say oh Jesus gave me a name also! That's up to you to say all I know if it's not true it'll come out. Jesus said let the wheat and the tare grow together. Peter is talking about false teachers claiming to be teachers of Christ and Peter doesn't even know who they are and he knows their teachings are not Christ teachings

Peter recognizes that he is facing death.

Chapter 1. Model of mature and secure believer
.
A. Parameters: Peter establishes the audience. V. 1-2.
B. Provisions: what God provides to enable a believer to follow Him. Immediate blessings. V. 3-4.
1. Empowering knowledge
2. New nature by surrending to Christ
3. Peace
4. Security
C. Process of following God - the heart of this chapter. V. 5-7. Like a recipe. Follow it in order, diligently:
1. Faith
2. Purity
3. Learning strategies. Fellowship is crucial
4. Self-control, mastering one's impulses
5. Perseverance
6. Reverence
7. Brotherly kindness - it is not the first step
8. Unconditional love - learn how to do it
D. Promises for those who follow Him. V. 8-15.
1. Productivity - usefulness and fruitfulness
2. Vision
3. Assurance of purification (assurance of salvation)
E. Privileges for those who follow Him. V. 16-21.
1. Assurance that our work will not die with us
2. We get to see God's word working in the lives of others

Chapter 2. Picture of deceptive, infiltrating teachers. A warning to be heeded.
False teachers will get into the church, and even into the pulpit
Worms grow inside the apple (and the church), as Satan was allowed into the Garden of Eden
They teach correct biblical doctrine and then insert false teaching
Freedom in Christ is for the purpose of serving and pleasing God, not ourselves
Motive: greed
End: judgement
God can defend His own work in the church
Disregard for the spiritual world - careless speaking
Don't really know how things work
In the absence of truth, people will consume lies

Chapter 3. Frieze scene of Final Judgement

As the end approaches, people will mock the idea of judgement

There are four steps to prepare the judgement:

1. v. 1-2. Get your facts straight - from the Word, not from Hollywood (popular culture).

2. v. 3-7. Do not expect the crowd to go along with you. People who love sensuality hate accountability. Modernity does not accept (the truth of) depravity, preferring to believe that mankind is innately good, not evil.
3. v. 8-9. Do not be disheartened by the Lord's delays. Every delay creates an opportunity for people to come to repentance.

4. v. 11. We should be changed by the knowledge of His promise, and not need to see more. Live right now as if there is a heaven (there is). Your faith should be able to "take a lickin' and keep on tickin'."
