Review | BF SU-17 Fitter Fighter-Bomber Flight (1/144) - TSBX28 | Warsaw Pact - WWIII: Team Yankee

The SU-17 and SU-22 Fitter in the Warsaw Pact release finally gives Soviet ally armies their own air support. Fitter is an older aircraft that was widely exported.

The new plastic Fitter kit was an old Academy 1/144 scale model. How does that translate to wargaming? What has Battlefront included in the kit to help players out? Check out the parts, quite a bit of history (I got carried away - sorry) and look at how Fitter will do on the table.

Aside: This video is launched a day early to celebrate the birthday of a late friend. Sandy - May the Fourth Be With You, Always!

Nice stats for a low-cost airstrike option. Thanks for the review!

A great look at the kit Harry, and always nice to hear the history of the veichle too.

Great to see them move from resin bricks on aircraft stands to plastic models.

Great review. Pity the kit doesn’t allow for building the wings in the swept-forward position.

Will build mine today. Those gaps on the replacement canopy are pretty bad.

Thanks for a great review, I’ve not used planes with my Soviets yet as I have been putting off building the Frogfoots that I have.

Wondering if I may just source Academy etc kits and build them to avoid the bendy parts on the Battlefront kit. I like the look of the Fitter and Frogfoot so will get round to it :)

Got the T-72 box today and these were the final things to build, and my luck one of the cockpit sprues were missing. Other than that, these are pretty awesome models.

Not considering the cost for BF. It think it would have been nice if there was a third option between the Su-22 and Su-25. The MiG 23 for WP nations or even the MiG-27 for the Soviets... just waffling... 😉
Nice review.
I build and painted a Su-22 by Academy for my Syrians some time ago. I modeled the landing gear covers up of course and to do so using the original parts was a pain in the butt too.

It does look good and having just put together some British harriers which were so fiddly I sympathise

It's actually a nice little kit, if a bit old. Easy build though.

Does it have a clear plastic windshield?

My Iraqis would love to add this to their Air Force now we need some F-4 Phantom’s

Damn.
I would possibly have been a Little bit more scathing at that kit. 35 years ago, I built way nicer kits ..

It's a shame the MiG-27 is not an option for the Soviets.
