Has anyone noticed a change in the Princess Elite mini bar setup providing canned mixed drinks instead of the usual small bottles?

Hi Alison. I was on onboard the Crown Princess for this cruise, but thankfully not on that tender! The guests were quite traumatised by the experience as were the crew. We had a really rocky trip back to the ship on the tender that day. A few days later we were due to tender again a Port Arthur Tasmania and the Captain made the decision not to tender again as the weather was very high winds in the aptly named Storm Bay.

I had a water shutter break down at the same beach, we waited onboard for another tender to tie a rope to us and tow us back to the Coral Princess. We were certainly too far out to wade ashore.

We were on the Majestic Princess over Thanksgiving and there were 600 children on board. It was very noticeable that there were lots of children everywhere but not in a bad way.

We were on the Princess 2023 World Cruise and had a shuttle that lost power. The entire ship broke out to sing the Gilligan’s Theme song several times. It was partially repaired and we limped back to the ship. Looking back on it, it was actually quite fun.

On the Holland America increase of the HIA package not only did they raise the rate overnight but with no warning. When I called to add the package and pay for our cruise ahead of time to insure the 2 free dinning options included at the dates & times desired that is when we were told of the increase. Also they increased the pricing on the cost of the drinks so we lost value here also. So a cocktail that was $11.00 before is now $12.50. So it is an increase on the package and could then lower the value received. I feel if you were booked and within 2-3 weeks before final payment they should have informed you. That is good business. It cost to keep customers and it leaves a bitter taste for us. We don’t drink very much but enjoy water, smoothie or speciality coffee so it really is a break even for us. I get making profits profits but I also really get customer loyalty and that cost.

We were looking to book a cruise and had talked to our Travel Agent about the trip. I saw an offer for increased on-board credit on the same voyage so talked to him about that. He found that the increased credit went with a *greater* increase in cabin price! Cruise lines are in the business of making money, not giving it away. As the old saying has it, caveat emptor (let the buyer beware).

Very important to pay attention to holiday cruising IF you don’t want A LOT of kiddos literally running around especially late at night running up/down hallways!!😳 Personally I just experienced this over Thanksgiving - noted to plan accordingly going forward!

I had the early booking bonus package on my 58 day cruise with HAL. Premium drink package, upgraded wifi, & gratuities included & the regular perks too for $50us per day. A really good price.

Princess takes service to the next level - why bother with the dock when they can drop you directly on to the beach.

Thanks for the information on HAL’s Have It All pricing. Have the prices gone up a lot this year? I’ve been pricing HAL cruises, and we like the Neptune Suites. The prices this fall seem like they are a lot more expensive than last fall. Don’t know if this is just a HAL thing or if all cruise lines have raised their prices.

Thanks for the update! We are celebrating our 30th anniversary by going on our first princess cruise on December 30 on the enchanted Princess for a 10 day cruise! Very curious to know if there will be lots of kids on board for that sailing.

I just renewed my annual Allianz travel insurance policy. I did up my trip cancellation limits, as trips are definitely getting more expensive, especially air fare.

There are too many children on cruise ships today, especially RCL, Carnival, and NCL. The ships have turned into amusument parks with play dates. Real cruisers are permanently turned off to cruising. Select vacations in the great USA, and we have never looked back other than to say goodbye to cruising.

Looks like Princess offers a cancellation for any reason enhancement on their cruise insurance that will give back future cruise credits. “Cancel for any Reason1
