I would say go through your make up collection before you go shopping. This always makes me think "well, I already have 100 brown shadows, I don't need any more" and that way I at least buy something I don't already have. I also like to tell myself that I can buy a new lipstick only after I finish the one that is almost done or after throwing away the one that is so old that it has gone bad. This way my collection doesn't get out of hand :)

Yep, I will definitely agree about Ulta's rewards policy. It's the best. Their samples suck but I'd rather have money off my purchase anyway lol.

Useful tip: leave things in your online cart for a few days on brand websites (doesn't work for Sephora/Ulta). Sometimes they email you coupons just because something is in your cart.

I like to just get a bunch of samples for foundations when I wanna test one out instead of buying it and then going to return it. a lot of the time I'll keep the sample containers and if there's a drugstore foundation I wanna try I'll just bring it and fill it bc I don't know if you can get samples from the drugstore
