Electra water tanker landing gear failed to lower.

For any of you guys watching in 2020, here’s an update:

Tanker 490 (as seen in this video) is now fully repaired and fully functional. Good as new! 2 days ago she went up for pilot training and today she flew out of Red Deer to go on contract and is now back to fighting wildfires!

Belly tank saved the ol girl from extensive damage. Great job on the pilot keeping her wings level until the end.

Got my license 40 years ago and remember bragging to my dad saying whoo whoo I've got 100 hours in! With a staunch British accent says " it's how many landings you have, that's what counts ". So true. Kudos to the Captain smooth job

That's very good indeed. I fly helicopters but I have a soft spot for these big birds...always hate seeing them get torn up. Good job to the crew...👍

my dad was actually in one of the fire trucks there!! at the time (and still is) was working for the Red Deer County Fire Dept., and, in his own words, "There's truly nothing like chasing a plane down the runway in a firetruck with lights and sirens going!!"
