Great videos. You get right to the point. I have 45 years experience and have a few pointers. Look the part. Dress nicely Show up on time. Don't smell of alcohol or tobacco. Wear a hat so you can remove it when they answer the door. Let them see you do it because it shows you have manners. Women, especially, appreciate this.

The Handyman trade is not difficult. I’ve had some of the same customers for 30 years and they have threatened to dig me up if I die. 😜

Those five things are good and all but, you left out the actual basics. I.e. tools, transportation ect. I find that actually answering your phone and doing what you say you are going to do goes a long way with customers. Keep the videos coming.

i think one of the biggest things that i wish i had learned earlier is to be realistic about what tools and equipment to buy and what equipment is just more itelligent to rent. i was so caught up with wanting to own everything and feeling that renting was a waste because i felt that money could go toward a purchase. it's a tricky balance. ive bought tools that ive used oncve in a decade and now technology has advanced and there are better tools for that purpose.

The personality comment is a great one.
I was a project manager for a few insurance restoration companies as well as a production home builder.
If you can’t be flexible and talk to each personality, your job will be nearly impossible.
I am fairly good at reading people when I meet them and I’ve learned which personalities I jive well with and which I don’t.
There is always a surprise personality now and then, but that keeps you on your toes.
I find relating to people is great. Just having general conversation with them and providing input from your personal life that corresponds to their particular situation works very well. I feel it helps them to understand that you are human too rather than just a guy looking to take their money.

Would you recommend letting customers know if you are doing a job you do not had a lot of experience doing? Like if someone asks you to do something you haven’t done would you say “I’m willing to do it but I’ll let you know up front that I will be learning as I go” or something along those lines? Because I agree that learning is very important, and there are plenty of things that I do not yet have experience doing that I know I could do and make money off of.

Business license?  Contractors license?  Insurance?  Do you have a video discussing those, please?  Thanks!

You know which business has the biggest advertising spend? Coca cola. One year they decided they didn't need to advertise. I mean its coca cola right? That year Pepsi went massive I think it was around the time Michael Jackson was advertising them. Coca cola quickly resumed their advertising campaigns.
