Check engine can be as simple as the neutral control switch. It happens to people more times than you think. It’s not a huge deal. If the light comes on you MAY experience your car not starting. Put your foot on the break with the battery on, go into neutral and turn the key until the engine turns on. Hope this helps.

Pft I had someone try to pull this BS on me after he practically forced me to drive his GTO. I drove it to and from work, i drive like a little old lady but halfway to work the light comes on so I tell me. A few days later he sends me a picture of the bill of whats wrong with it. I was so pissed he was trying to blame me I asked friends in my car community if that type of fix was something that could break in 60 minutes of driving and everyone said no that's something that would happen over time with abuse. The ones that know how I drive my STi added that in no way would the way I drive cause it. Still upsets me to this day what he tried to push onto me. Grr!
