Just picked mine up Saturday. Car feels way more solid than my Model 3!!

As mentioned in the previous video. This LG Pack is less powerful than the equivalent Panasonic. Mostly because the Panasonic doesn't drop that much in pack voltage when under load. The MYP 2022 is allowed to pull 100A more than the M3P 2021, but because of the 100V voltage drop it ends up with less power to the wheels. Your 90-10% Acceleration Test would show the power drop with SoC pretty clearly. A MYLR with Boost is on par at around 70% SoC.

We own one and for a family crossover it’s bloody quick!!

Also congrats on the baby. I haven’t slept well since either of my kids were born, but they make it worth the tiredness. Didn’t drink caffeine before kids now my blood is half energy drinks.

A very good test with consistent results! I'm interested to see how the sales numbers of Model Y will develop in Germany compared to Model 3.

That's quite interesting, see from that sheet that the Taycan Cross Turismo 4S is acutally more noisy than the Tesla Model 3P in Norway (80-100km/h) and slightly better in 120km/h.

Regardiing tire profile:
The number two (profile) is the percentage of the tire width.
So 235/35-20 that Model 3P has, means 35% of 235mm = 82.25mm tire height (rubber above rim), so 8, 2Cm.
Model Y front wheel in 21": 255/35-21 means 35% of 255 = 89.25m, so 8.9Cm.
Model Y rear wheel in 21": 275/35-21, so 35% of 275 = 96.25mm.

So if we then take the rear wheels, the diff is acutally 11.7% ~12% in tire height.
But while rubber does dampen, surface area of the wider tires will most likely pick up noise too.

And the Y vs 3: I think in general the Y is better sound insulated, but the 3 has a fixed rear hatch.
The Y with the removable shelf in place I guess would be slightly better than if its not mounted.

Would be also great to see the acceleration test for model y lr with acceleration boost

Not sure, but seems regarding diffrence on HP, new performance models come with a new hairpin motor instead wiring motor

The power difference to the Model 3 Performance is most likely battery related. The Model Y uses LG cells versus Panasonic cells in the Model 3 Performance (but this is going to change from now on, to the LG cells too)

That is some good brake performance of the 3 SR+
240kg less makes up for the worse tires.

3:30 Noise better owing to the cover in the back? Hmmm... would a pillow in the underfloor improve things further?

Mr. Nyland is not the first person to feel the stress of being a new father, but that is no reason for him to tear up the interior of the car. And that tape job is not going to fool anyone.

Hi. Do you think the downgrade of rear calipers would impact 100-0 braking a lot? There is a rumor that Tesla downgraded rear calipers on model y performance model in USA. I also wonder if this is the case for the germany model that is made in Gigafactory.

Maybe consider averaging braking distances from all four attempts.

Björn quick question. I live in Iceland and am looking at an electric SUV style car. I have two kids 5 and almost 3 respectively and both are in rear facing car seats, Axkid mini kid and Axkid One. I have narrowed my choices down to the Model Y and Skoda Enyaq. Which would be better recommended overall? You covered the Enyaq briefly last year and I haven’t seen too many reviews anywhere. Overall the Model Y fits the car seats better, but it’s not available here until Novermber-January here while I could pick up an Enyaq sooner. Difference in price is about 150.000 NOK.

The Skoda is the 80 RWD with some features added as it is a showroom car being sold, only 150 km on the odometer as people have only been able to see it, poke it, and sit in it.

I think you accidentally put "Model 3" in the Range test tab of the shiieet.

Think you have some smutsch in your db meter. Most silent tesla ever made - unarguable. Start looking and you will see why. So many improvements with sound deadening foam and mats under the panels and under the interior. As well as exceptional build quality and the paint job is definitely up to german spec. Hopefully the car u borrow is not a previous demo car, cause they were terrible

Anybody knows the different motors tesla uses in the model 3 and Y? I heard that the older ones got windings motor and the newer ones hairpin motor? Would that explain the difference in power output?

I think the newer Ys have better suspension that lowers noice. This can be seen by better load capacity in registration.
