OMG... you have no idea how delighted I am to have stumbled upon this video. I am 57 and currently live in Burlington, Iowa with my wife. I was thrilled to see all the Sacramento footage, as that's where I spent the vast majority of my early adult life. But when you got to the Kentucky line, I nearly wet myself! I grew up in Burson, which the line ran through (originally Helisma on the SP timetable) and I went to grammar school in Valley Springs. (Yes, there's an 's' on the end of that). Sometimes my friends and I would walk the 7 miles home after school along those tracks. We scurried across that very bridge at the 16:00 minute mark. It was a sad day when they tore it down. There were plans in the early 1900’s for the UP and SP to join together, and then they broke up, only for them to later join together again later in the 1990’s when UP bought SP.

Well one thing about the city of San Francisco train marooned, the only surviving car is now at the Golden gate railroad Museum RPO 5901

And so are two of the F units one of which was the first one of all the diesels to get the bloody nose paint scheme and that is SP 6378 the other one is 6380
