In a plethora of kidney-priced business/first class reviews, thank you Simply Aviation for reviewing what the vast majority of people actually fly!

Italy's flag carriers always collapse because nobody flies them. Domestically, everyone uses the very efficient, fast high-speed rail. International, there are usually better airlines to fly on. Nice review!

I was a fan of Alitalia, despite most people hated it, but haven't tried ITA yet. One of the reasons is as you pointed out in the video, the price could be ridiculously expensive for what is not (yet) recognised as a premium airlines.

I also noted that their Skyteam membership doesn't seem to be fully integrated in either case of being Volare member flying other member airlines or a member of other programmes flying on ITA flights.

That was an excellent video! Too many reviewers just complain.
You however identify weaknesses (even those where you “benefit” e.g. the beverage service) and provide well justified recommendations.

I would love Starlux Airlines to be covered soon! They stand out from other airline startups in that they are offering luxury and a premium offering for the middle class. I've seen a few economy and business reviews of them already, but I'd love to see one in Simply Aviation style.

The reason why I enjoyed a lot Alitalia is because they treated every passenger really nicely and their food was really good. Plus they gave lots of snacks even in Economy, and their prices for intercontinental flights were really good. Never flew with Ita though (i am italian)

Regarding the Alitalia uniforms, new ITA’s uniforms should start coming in during April. They are currently being delivered by the supplier!

good review all in all, but just a couple of things about the food review, Cannelloni are a typical Italian dish and they are served without tomato cause that's the original Italian recipe, and we never heat up bread because it's fresh and it doesn't need to be heated to make it crunchy. Also we don't eat crackers with cheese, but bread, salty crackers would cover up the taste. We have a lot to learn about airlines, less about food 🙂

I am not too fond of that white livery on that specific aircraft but, your commentary fully explains the reason why it exists. I do love ITA's blue livery. I find it stunning!

ITA is no abbreviation of Italia, but stands for Italia Trasporto Aereo (Italy's Air Transport), so you can pronounce it as an acronym, which is what it actually is.

I remember eating cannelloni at a local restaurant in Rome a few years ago but it contained spinach and ricotta and tomato sauce - That’s how the original classical dish is made if I’m right. Did you consider taking a train between Bologna and Rome? I know you guys like flying, but for such a short distance I think I definitely would consider taking one of the high speed trains, unless flying would still be the cheaper option 😅 I’ve been on the Frecciarossa once, between Milan and Venice. I know the can be expensive, but these trains are actually very nice 👌🏻

Beautiful video, just a few considerations. Slots over LHR are not ITA Airways property, as Alitalia sold them to Etihad around 2015. ITA rented their slot until march 2023, and they eventually got rid off 'em. EIIFD is not waiting to be painted in blue, it will simply remain white with the "Born to be sustainable" livery.

Maybe Lufthansa can bring some kind of consistency into the airline. I really wish them the best because Italy definitely needs a strong flag carrier

"ITA" does stand for Italy, but not in this case. In case of ITA Airways the "ITA" stands for "Italia-Trasporto-Aereo"

ITA uses both A330s and A350s for their long-haul network. In Boston, they use A330s (inherited from Alitalia)

Simply Aviation, you guys need to come to Australia and review REX airlines, the relaunched Virgin Australia, the new airline Bonza, LINK airways, Fly Pelican and so many more I can't even think of. Definitely add Aus to the list of places to travel too.

Royal Blue is the color of the Savoy house that united Italy in 1860. Nothing to do with soccer.

My partner has flown Alitalia from Tokyo to Rome and twice and was able to upgrade to Business class for very reasonable price. He is still talking about it, he said it was better than Emirates. Qatar, BA, Air France Business class .

Like PAL I feel ITA has a lot of potential hopefully whomever will take ownership will help them grow also hoping they consider operating smaller aircraft while also codeshare with HST for routes that don't make sense I'm especially excited for the A330-900neo entering service soon!

Also sad the pizza wasn't available as a pre-arrival meal.

229 airlines? That’s insane. But it makes sense as this is the best channel for any plane-related content. ❤❤
