Not in Vain | A Visual Poem

Even though the poem is pretty simple with its use of words and language, it carries a meaning which transcends that, delivering the importance of an indispensable part of life, the idea of 'giving'. 

The idea arising from the love that we carry within ourselves, allows us to share its tenderness with others. 

In an attempt to visualise this poem, I tried to portray how small things that we do everyday may seem insignificant to us, but it holds the power of filling one's day with love and kindness.

In the very beginning, the chaos and confusion is reflective of the chaos that one faces in life while trying to bring a significant meaning to life. But the latter half of the film makes one realize that it's the things that we consider small, mundane, and often insignificant, which lets us breathe and view things from the lens of love, beauty and tenderness. 

I recorded this using my phone, Samsung Galaxy M31.

Can't express how absolutely beautiful this is

Watching this was uncomfortable because of it's relatability on different levels and also because art is supposed to disturb the comfortable. Felt uneasy as it led me to rethink all the moments.
Simply, a beautifully put together work with great observations and execution.
