CSX Coal Train Runby-Marriottsville MD

Well...here's MY entry into the CSX-train-runby-somewhere-south-or-west-of-Baltimore video pool! I stopped by the Old Main at Marriottsville on Sunday March 13 (2011) to do some video narration at Patapsco State Park and-wouldn't you know it-along comes an eastbound coal drag, ugly blue locomotives and all (can't help it-I miss Chessie)! The only camera I had ready to shoot was my regular-def digital tape camera (had hi-def with me but couldn't get the entire train with it-because I had my tape camera in my hand!). Sorry for the bit of shakiness-didn't get my tripod out of my car because I didn't expect this! Serves me right I guess. Also I edited it because I figured nobody wants to watch a long boring coal train, but I see unedited vids uploaded that seem to score a lot of views! Anyway, I now join the rest of you who like posting contemporary runbys of CSX stuff! But don't get me wrong-I'm still working on more "classic" RR slide shows and vids-including a ride on this line behind Chessie #614 (1980) and a 1986 ride down the former Conrail Pope's Creek line (respectively)! Again a regular-def vid but mastered here in hi-def for best upload results.

@CSX2665 You gotta forgive me here...I'm someone who grew up with F & E units, GG-1s and Alcos!! These dash units seem to lack the aesthetic appeal of the others! When an F7A approached at a crossing, you KNEW it!! I'm sure these contemporary units are great, and I still enjoy watching one go by, but they seem to lack the appeal of the "classic" diesels! Thanx 4 watching and commenting!

@BaltimoreAndOhioRR Despite what I told a previous commenter I kinda do like EMD's GP & SD series despite still favoring the F units I grew up with. But obviously they're designed to be workhorses! Not that the Fs didn't work but I think GM opted for something more utilitarian with them!
Between you and me-I wasn't ready for this runby! It was a Sunday when OML traffic is at a minimum. But, after arriving, I thought I heard a train...

lol your not the only one...i really dont like coal trains because they just suck and theyre so boring..who wants to see a long string of hoppers & plus its like catching the same car over & over again!...
