What are browser extensions? Are they all helpful, or are some malicious by design?

My two favourite browser extensions are 'Ratings Preview for YouTube' & 'Speed Dial [FVD].

Some of the most useful ones are Disconnect, ShareMeNot, and Blur. They prevent 3rd parties from tracking and monitoring your browsing behavior :)

the extension i find myself using the most (in fact, it's my only browser extension) is flash because i like to play a lot a flash games (mostly on newgrounds)

Techquickie You missed a great opportunity to at least mention that just the support for extensions alone makes browsers perform poorly, and adding extensions can slow down your browsing even further.

I feel like nearly noone knows just how big of an impact it has, though... so maybe even you didn't know..?
