Jaws 3-D (1983) - Recut Alternate Ending

Just like the sequel that followed it, "Jaws 3-D" has a notoriously terrible ending as well. I did not re-edit the entire ending of the film, as I feel everything that takes place after the glass breaking, other than the awful-looking floating pair of jaws and leaping dolphins, is fine. It would have been an extra two minutes for two small cuts, so I decided against it. Unfortunately, I did have to employ CGI because there is no other plausible way to fix this ending. While it is not the best looking CGI out there, it certainly looks better than what was originally there.

The only problem I have with it is the use of the shot from Deep Blue Sea with the glass breaking because the reason why it doesn’t work as well for me is the fact that the lab in Deep Blue Sea is ginormous while the lab in JAWS 3 is a bit more office-sized. Either way, it’s so well done and it gets my like

Lou Gossett Jr’s line “it’s gonna hit us !” [0:30] explains the track title on the soundtrack album “The Shark’s Gonna Hit Us !” for years, the track title confused me as the line/this shot didn’t make it through the final cut.

Great timing releasing this lol I keep rewatching this scene because the music is outstanding. And weird how for a brief second you actually see the shark from a distance approaching the glass and it’s actually moving at about 00:10 but In The next scene it’s clearly looks like a shitty peace of cardboard even though it was computer generated lol I don’t get why they didn’t just use that affect from the brief second you see the shark moving because in that case it would have looked a lot better for 1983.

That’s a lot better than what we got in the real movie which just looked like someone dragging a JPEG of a shark towards the screen.

What you've done here is really cool. I applaud it. However I actually like the original as is ending. On one hand it's so fucking terrible its hilarious. But on the other hand it's so uncanny, so weird, so despite the ineptitude and cheapness that went into it it actually still kinda creeps me out....just the "look" on the stupid sharks face and the totally stlll movement....it's not GOOD...but it's got a certain nightmarish quality (that the filmmakers probably didn't even intend) that makes it fucking terrifying to me and was especially terrifying to 5 year old me lol
