It cracked me up when you said you lost your horse because it was literally shown on your radar right below as you were talking lmao. By just walking in the direction of the horse icon and getting a bit closer, you could have whistled it. Once a horse is bonded there is no way to lose it.
And your horse stayed on the radar for the following days while you kept roaming the countryside on foot.
