Anne Harris : I Believe in Being Ready

In celebration of Juneteenth, this is my take on an old traditional gospel song. Juneteenth (June 19th) is an annual celebration of the end of slavery in the US. The holiday commemorates a specific date, June 19th, 1865, the day federal troops arrived in Texas to ensure that all enslaved people were freed. Emancipation was actually in 1863 but it took two years for the news to travel to the outer territories.
