I was on that flight that took off out of Cincinnati where Mercedes was....She is being more over dramatic, what happened is the engine covered didn't seem like it was secured properly which opened up on rotation...the airplane kept climbing like normal - the pilots did a fantastic job of landing the airplane safely...It was a 757.

What people do not realized is that planes performance for twin engines are based on single engine climb.

I travel quiet often for work and I will be honest - this is the only time I have had a issue with Allegiant and I fly on them at least 8-10 times a year - I have actually has more issues maintenance wise on American and United. I was on a flight out of ORD a few years a ago where the engine died....plane kept on climbing as normal.

Further more, this Steve Kroft is not that great of a reporter - he has had some issues in the past with misleading info.

The Captain was fired...
For evacuating everyone off a plane...
That just had one of its engines blow up...

Allegiant is awesome its dirt cheap and it is going to come back strong bc of this pandemic they upgraded their fleet and the flight was smooth and relaxing

Allegiant is #1 at being the worst. If you fly on this airline you will regret it. The ticket counter staff is the worst in Las Vegas.

Absolutely you should be concerned! I worked for this so called Airline and I stopped flying them even when I could still fly free ( none rev) they pay ground crew that can't even speak English nothing and treat their crew like trash . Once on a unscheduled overnight, they forced the Flight Attendants to all sleep in one room and on the floor and still made them work the trip back the next day ... if you think you are safe on that $99 fair... think again .... you get what you pay for . If you want to be hurtled through the air in a cigar tube pressurized at 30+ thousand feet at 500 miles an hour on a piece of junk that's 30+ years old, that's your risk... but you are warned from all the bad things people say online about this company and even from the mouth of a former mechanic

Airplanes are not like cars, which is all the flying public can relate to. There are standards for fatigue and parts replacement. As the planes get older they will fail more often and that's why there are redundant systems, and they have more inflight aborts. Cars don't have two engines and hydraulic systems for a reason. You're not flying. If the operation was unsafe the flight check process would shut them down. I don't see any PSA MIDAIRS happening every week. You just can't plan on arrivals on time.

I mean I’ve flown Allegiant several times. I have never had a problem. Also, Allegiant has never had a plane crash. Other airlines have. Do your own research before you watch some news story.

Allegiant’ screw sucks the pilots on Allegiant are one of the best but every experience I’ve had with them has been bad and would of been way worse if it wasn’t for the amazing pilots

Worst experience of my life flying Allegiant. Two hour delay taking off. When we did, an emergency landing. Then enroute they tell us our destination airport IAG is closed. Land at BUF 12 hours after our original take off time. Then....they abandoned us. In a closed airport Offered $100. voucher. As you can guess it was never used. And btw. It was a A320 not a MD-80.

flown allegiant numerous times never any big issues I believe maybe once I had a 7 hour delay due to weather-_- but that was like once out of 8 plus flights, btw this is an old video I believe two or threes years ago they upgraded their fleet .i hear more worst from other low budget airlines like spirit and frontier, I like allegiant usually flys into the smaller airports I don't have to deal with the hussel and bussel of the bigger airports I can get in and out if anything it wouldn't hurt to try the airline out and go from there

Considering the fact that Most Airline companies "Retire" their aircraft close to 10 years of age. These Alligiant Airbus A319 & A320 planes have already been retired once then sold to this company to be used all over again. So these planes are very well used & fatigued from 1000s of takeoffs & landings so Maintenance & parts replacements are going to be much more frequent with no room for error here at best. That said even Brand New aircraft can & do have problems. Boeing knows all about that with their M-cast system that crippled their entire fleet of perfectly good 737 aircraft. The FAA should have more stringent Safety guidelines in place that state once a jet is retired by an airline company it cannot be sold. There also needs to be an age limit placed on these aircraft to ensure the general publics Safety placing that above company profits.
