On March 12, 2010 Warren Wille sat down and told of experiences in World War II. Warren served as a B-29 pilot in the 875th Bomb Squad, 498th Bomber Group of the 20th Air Force. He was based in Saipan and altogether flew 12 missions over Japan. In this clip from this full interview, Warren talks about being one of the first pilots to land a damaged plane on Iwo Jima, before the island battle was completely over.

If you ask any Marine that was on Iwo about this B-29 they’ve got the story! This is an amazing interview and a great find! What an inspiration to the men on the island to see what they were fighting for as well
