Lots of people have requested me to show my neighborhood, so in this vlog I decided to take you guys to my neighborhood. I live in the Ironbound District in Newark, NJ. The neighborhood is a working class neighborhood, and knows for its immigrants, and nice restaurants. The neighborhood has much more to offer than what I showed in the video. The best thing about living in this neighborhood, is that it has train station with easy commute to NYC within 20 to 30 minutes. Hope you all enjoy this vlog.

People say that Newark is bad but I’m glad you’re proving people wrong. Ironbound looks great

Interesting to see your vid. As a Brit I first heard about this area in Suzanne Vega's song from her 1987 album, Solitude Standing. Cheers from London!

The Ironbound district is one of Newark's best neighborhood "if not the best" clean sidewalks and streets and low crime, however as 2020 the rent prices has been skyrocketing.
Charging in some places for 2 TINY SMALL bedroom apartment up to $2000 per month PLUS utilities...
And the other issue is the parking if you own a car and live there, well my friend you better have a patience because at the end of the day you will need to drive around to find one...
But just like Manny says still a good place with lots of bars and restaurants from all over the world, no wonder some people call it "Little NYC's".
And the Portugal Parade is awesome!!

My friend moved out of his apartment near the ironbound and I'm going to be moving into it. Went to school and worked in Newark and worked there for a few years after college so its like coming back home again.

My home away from home. I moved to the Upper East Side almost 20 years ago. Lived there two years and now after almost 18 years in Williamsburg Brooklyn, here I met my fiancé! I needed to be as close to NYC without trains due to my job. I visit all the time as my family is still there. We have been looking for a new home to buy in the Ironbound and I am so excited considering all the positive growth downtown (just minutes from Ironbound/Ferry St which this video is about) where the Newark Museum, NJ Historical Society, NJ Performing Arts Center, Prudential (where they have so many sporting events and music acts as well as the new Grammy Museum) are all located. Not to mention Halsey St has become a “go-to” area with organic cafes, great little restaurants, bars, and near there is now Starbucks, Nike Store, Whole Foods. Newark is called the “Renaissance City” for a reason! ♥️

Visited Ironbound several years back with a friend for a Portuguese and Brazilian food crawl. Loved it there and agree that it feels like parts of Brooklyn

Manny - I lived and worked in Ironbound in the 90s - on Thomas Street across the street from the abandoned Conmar Zipper factory. I used to take the bus down Ferry St. to the end to work at a chemical factory under the Pulaski Skyway.
