For any newbies out there or anyone tight on cash: When I first started playing 40k I would cut up soda boxes and make houses and bunkers out of them by cutting little windows and doors. If the box is tore up or misshapen, don't worry, it can be a ruin.

I've been playing 40k for years and was never exactly the greatest player. Now with Chapter Approved books and FAQs being thrown at me constantly I'm starting to wonder if it's worth investing my money, my time, and myself in a game where the rules change faster than I can learn them.

A tip for helping cut costs. If you and a friend want to get into the game, consider splitting the cost of a large box set. My roommate and I split the large Indomitus box, me taking Space Marines and he took the Necrons. We lived together so sharing books wasn't an issue, but it can help with model costs. Also it bears mentioning, the game "Table Top Simulator" will allow to play Warhammer easily at only the cost of the game. It isn't nearly as fun, you miss out on painting models, but it at least lets you get a feel and understanding for the game.

The cost of table top is not even in the realm of possibility, especially with the cost of painting equipment as well.

I tried to get into this game at the beginning of 8th edition. But its hard to play a game that requires so many expensive books that become useless in about a year when gw makes new units that require a new book and on and on. Just make this crap digital. Isn't it enough to buy a dreadnought for 59.99 fugging dollars
