You could probably kill them faster by putting beam emitters on double construct heads.

It's hard to explain, but basically you put one construct head diagonally on top of another (making sure the base is just hanging in the air so that the top head can't move), and then attach the beam emitter to the top head parallel to the bottom head.

If you do it right, the beam emitter will fire in bursts, which will kill them faster and drain less of your battery.
