This thing looks amazing. Honestly the big downside of my A7RIV is that it doesn’t perfectly match my FX3 footage as a b-cam. Takes a bit of color grading to get them aligned but love that the A7IV has Slog 3, the 10 bit 4.2.2 and s-cinetone. Also agree on the 4k 60 being enough - especially if you’ve already got 120 on the FX3.

Another awesome video man! I actually found your channel a while ago after I picked up the Canon EOS RP and you had some great in depth videos on it! Now I see myself upgrading at some point this year and I’ve been considering swapping to Sony a lot do to aftermarket lens compatibility and this camera is really catching my eye!

Dope video! Honestly, as someone who does reviews and product based videos the crop on the 4k 60 doesn’t bug me at all. I would only ever use it for B Roll and to be honest a punched in look is probably what I am going for anyway. Hype to get mine this coming week! Merry Christmas Eve ya filthy animals!

goin 2 sell my a7iv, i did a test side by side with super resolution with my a7siii vs a7iv and you cant even tell the difference. makes the 12mp a7siii a 48mp beast with camera raw.

I prefer using the charger that the a7siii/FX3 come with. It’s a fast charger while most 3rd party options, although convenient, are slower.

Unless you NEED the flip out screen, I went the other way than you did here. Sold my fx3 during the shortage and bought a used (rated 10) A1 on B&H for 5800. I feel like unless you need two cameras for interviews (which I admittedly do want someday) the A1 has the best of your two cameras as well as 8k thrown in for cropping. But once these a7iv’s start popping up used I think it’ll be an awesome b cam for sure.
