With the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter games approaching, final preparations are being made in the alpine city.
That includes the path the olympic torch will travel.

The 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic torch relay test event was held today in the city of Gangneung , Gangwon-do Province.
The test run covered the final leg of the torch relay, covering more than 30 kilometers from Gyeongpo Beach to Gangneung city hall. One-hundred-and-twenty-five torchbearers took part in the relay.

Under the theme of 'Let Everyone Shine', the actual torch will travel to Korea from Olympia in Greece. When the torch arrives at Incheon Airport on November 1st, it will start its one-hundred-and-one day journey to the main stadium in Pyeongchang, covering exactly 2018 kilometers and traveling through all nine provinces and eight major cities in the country, as well as passing by various tourist attractions along the route.

In a survey of one thousand people conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, two-thirds of respondents believe the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics will be a success, with just 7.4 percent having a pessimistic view of the upcoming games.

Out of the 15 event categories,... short track was the most popular, with 32 percent of respondents wanting to watch the event,... followed by speed skating and figure skating. However, the most anticipated part of the games... is the opening ceremony. Won Jung-hwan, Arirang News.
